Four-year $40,000 scholarships awarded yearly to high school seniors through a performance competition. Filene Scholars are not required to b a music major; they are expected to take private lessons and participate in department ensembles.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Festival and concert: Free admission for ensembles and their teachers

SATURDAY, MARCH 27

10am - 11:30am - INDIVIDUAL MASTER CLASSES on each instrument with BOREALIS members
    PERFORMERS for each class will include SKIDMORE STUDENTS and at least one GUEST STUDENT.

11:30am to 11:50am - Q & A SESSION after each master class

12 noon - LUNCH in newly-renovated Murray-Aikins Dining Hall.

2pm - 4pm -
COACHING SESSIONS - Borealis and Skidmore faculty will coach student ensembles.

4:30 -
SKIDMORE AND GUEST STUDENT ENSEMBLES CONCERT in Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall

6:00 - DINNER in newly-renovated Murray-Aikins Dining Hall
                - Students dine with Skidmore faculty and students and visiting ensembles


8pm - BOREALIS CONCERT in Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall, Zankel Music Center


SUNDAY, MARCH 28

10am - 10:50am - BOREALIS PANEL DISCUSSION about careers and life in music.

11am - 12pm - REHEARSE FOR AFTERNOON COLLABORATIVE CONCERT: Borealis, Skidmore faculty, Skidmore ensembles and guest ensembles perform together.

12pm - LUNCH - Students dine with Borealis Wind Quintet and Skidmore faculty in newly-renovated Murray-Aikins Dining Hall.

1:30pm  - 3:00pm -
SKIDMORE WOODWIND AND BRASS FESTIVAL COLLABORATIVE CONCERT with Borealis, Skidmore faculty, Skidmore student ensembles and guest ensembles.
